Teacher's Page

The role of the teacher in this unit of work is to act as a facilitator. Students are self directed through the online content. They watch the videos, take notes, post on the class blog and complete the activities on their own and are encouraged to work with their peers to solve problems. The start of the unit should include a good explanation from the teacher of augemneted reality in order to ensure all students start with a basic understanding of the topic as well as the unti requirments.

The unit has been designed to be completed of a number of lessons
The school is assumed to have access to a class set of iPads/iPods with access to internet and app store
​
By the end of the unit students will:
  • be able to effectivly navigate YouTube, Google and other search engines to look for learning solutions
  • be able to create step by step instructions
  • be able to discuss how interacting with real world and computer generated can be merged to create a virtual world
  • be able to interact using a class blog

Content description –

          Knowledge and Understanding: ACTDIK014 - Examine the main components of common digital systems and how they may connect                         together to form networks to transmit data.

Focus Elaboration-

          investigating how emerging digital systems work, for example using an augmented reality app (or blended reality) and considering how                 images of real-world objects can be blended with computer-generated information to produce a virtual reality
